Candidate Statement:

The House of Delegates in daily-speak, is the top policy-making body for the physical therapy profession.   With your support, I have served as the Delegate from Academy of Acute Care to the House for the past term. One grows tremendously from serving in this role, as I have. It is also a massive learning curve to be catapulted from having personal positions, clinical expertise, and opinions, to bring them to the fore in a massive forum of policy-making peers, being able to articulate them, and reconcile differing views, is beyond humbling. One notable development for the 2018 House, is the motion for allowing voting rights to the Academies & Sections. Previously, these were part of the non-voting delegations. However, there is compelling reasons why one as a part of the Sections/Academies would want voting rights. The voting State Chapters often do not have adequate representation of specialty practice members as represented by the Academies & Sections. This is among some motions that I will support during this House.  I humbly seek your support in my service to the Academy for another term as Delegate from the Academy of Acute Care PT. I remain at your service. Thank you.
