AACPT Voting Process Change

After launching this year’s election process, we identified a step we missed. Instead of going right into the voting or ballot process, we should have presented you with the proposed slate, along with the opportunity to petition a qualified candidate (like nominating from the floor) to the slate and to the ballot. AACPT’s bylaws state the following: Nominating Committee is to  present the slate to the membership at least 105 dayprior to the election date, which is the Annual Meeting. Additional candidate(s), if otherwise qualified, may be placed on the ballot at the written or email petition of ten (10) Academy members, provided such petition is postmarked or electronically submitted to the Academy office at least 75 days prior to the Annual Meeting.
As a result, we are pulling the voting which was launched yesterday and replacing with the slate, along with the opportunity to add an individual(s) to the slate.
Once the slate is open for 30 days, we will review all candidates that are written in and if qualified, will be added to the slate. At this time, the electronic ballot (voting) will be sent. Anyone who voted during the initial release will be asked to vote again. The voting will remain open for 30 days.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Thank you for your understanding.
