Academy Committees

The work of the Academy is done in large part by committees staffed by volunteer members. All committee chairpersons are listed on the Board of Directors page. Committees are always looking for member volunteers; please contact the committee chair for more information. Below are the committees of the Academy of Acute Care Physical Therapy.

Task Forces, Special Interest Groups, & Focus Groups

Task Forces: designed to address specific issues or concerns, include Board liaison and other members interested or skilled in the specific charge of the task force, and usually have a set goal or time frame for work. Task forces are disbanded when work is accomplished. 

Special Interest Group (SIG): formally recognized sub-group of Academy members with Board-approved Rules of Order; serve as network and resource for the Academy on specific area of practice. The Total Joint Replacement SIG (TJR SIG) is the Academy's only SIG currently.

Focus Groups: informal group of Academy members interested in a particular area of practice, incudes Board liasion, can be precursor to becoming SIG. The Academy has an Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit and Amputee Rehabilitation Focus Group.
